Ret. Sgt. Darren Burch is a 29-year veteran with the Phx Police Dept. and was the Crime Stoppers (Silent Witness) Director at the time of his retirement. His prior assignments include Detective Sergeant with the Crimes Against Children Unit, Night Detective Supervisor with the Homicide Unit, and Adult Sex Crimes Detective. With over 30 years of law enforcement experience (including Maricopa County Sheriff’s Dept. & U.S. Army Military Intelligence), he’s received numerous awards to include, the Medal of Lifesaving, the Army Commendation Medal, State Investigator of the Year, Detective of the Year, and over 100 written commendations. Twisted But True received the 2019 Pinnacle Award for Best True-Crime Book, Twisted But True Book II - Filling in the Cracks received the 2020 Pinnacle Award for Best-True Crime Book, and Twisted But True Book III - Plugging the Holes received the 2021 Pinnace Award for Best True-Crime book. And the author was featured on ID Channel's “American Detectives with Lt. Joe Kenda” as the season finale episode. Currently, Darren hosts the BADGE BOYS TV Show and Podcast, which respectively can be seen on FRN (First Responders Network) and heard at StarWorldwideNetworks.com
