They tell authors to write what they know. But when you’ve been abruptly exiled from a dimension of shifting illusions, draconian syndicates, and royal blood-feuds, Earth can feel a bit mundane.

I am DarkStar. I didn't exactly plan to relocate to this realm. One minute I was unraveling a shadow-treason in the Sapphire Court, and the next—courtesy of a highly illegal and particularly aggressive banishment hex—I woke up with a headache on a planet where "magic" usually involves a top hat and a rabbit.

To survive here, I had to adapt. I realized quickly that if I told the locals the truth about the wyverns I've tracked or the warlock cartels I've outsmarted, they'd lock me away. But if I wrote it all down and slapped the word **fiction** on the cover? Suddenly, I was an author.

Every sprawling epic of magic and intrigue I publish is just a memory. I am chronicling the history of a world I can no longer reach, translating the spells and secrets of my past into the ink and paper of yours. So, as you turn the pages of my books, enjoy the wild imagination—but just between us, I’m not inventing a thing. I’m just trying not to forget.
