Daniel MacLagan writes fiction and nonfiction that explores human behavior, survival, identity, and the choices people make under pressure. His work spans supernatural horror, adult dark fantasy, dystopian fiction, crime and conspiracy thrillers, relationships, and business.

Daniel began writing short stories, television and movie scripts, and novels at a young age. His education and experience in law enforcement, technology, the medical field, and forensics have shaped his interest in investigation, evidence, and the distance between what people believe and what they can prove.

His fiction includes The Greenlight Boys, a young adult dystopian and post-apocalyptic series featuring Patient Zero, The Pulse, and Dark Horizon. In supernatural horror, The Seventh Child opens The Remembered series. Art Can Kill You begins The Artist, a crime thriller series in which murders are staged as recreations of Renaissance artworks.

The Last Confession is the first book in The Cross Files series.

His adult dark fantasy series, The Covenant of the Gods, begins with The Duat Trials and continues with The Fractured Nile. Inspired by Egyptian mythology, the series follows Meren and an ensemble whose lives are shaped by divine bargains and their lasting human costs. The first book takes twelve marked youths into the underworld to secure the Nile’s return. The sequel follows a dispute over water and an older agreement that could determine who controls the river.
