Dacia M Arnold is a science fiction author who specializes in dystopian worlds where a mother saves the day. She is also a mother of two small children and a ten-year army veteran. Three years after publishing her first installment of the DiaZem Series, Dacia found herself against stakes similar to her fiction while responding to COVID 19 at Colorado Department of Homeland Security and Emergency Management. She soon realized her fictional-self did no justice to the real life path she blazed. Much of Dacia’s fiction is featured on Chapterbuzz and has won multiple Most Buzz awards on the site. She is also an Amazon Bestseller. Dacia’s nonfiction accounts of her ten year army career as a combat medic have appeared in The New York Times (November, 2019) and the award winning military history magazine, Full Mag Volume III (Full Magazine Press, 2021). She contributes to many professional blogs about the craft of writing and publishing. Dacia finished her BA in English with a 3.9 GPA while working 60+ hour weeks developing COVID 19 field hospitals for the State of Colorado. She also managed to home school her second grader and play dress up with her three year old while juggling the weight of the world. “This isn’t the worst thing I’ve been through,” was the moto that kept her going. In the summer of 2021, Dacia started a podcast called Super Woman Next Door to encourage everyday women to share their secret heroic stories in their own lives. Her goal is to create a non-profit around helping women prevent and recover from domestic violence. Planned future works include a sweet, cozy romance novel sprinkled with tools and knowledge every woman should have to live independently by choice. The outer cover of the book will be plain with an ambiguous title. Real life direct second person perspectives will be tucked into the narrative of the story disguised as dialogue. I will collaborate with social workers and mental health professionals who specialize in women’s behavioral health to develop this required reading for all women. The advice inside will ideally remain a secret and safe for those in the midst of dangerous domestic relationships.
