Cruz Sánchez de Lara (1972) is a Spanish attorney and human rights activist. She is a founding partner of the law firm Sánchez de Lara Abogados with offices in Sevilla, Granada and Madrid, where she currently practices law. Ms. Sánchez de Lara's philanthropic efforts have focused on the struggle for gender equality and women's rights. She is the president of THRibune: Tribune for Human Rights, an international non-profit organization dedicated to the defense of human rights. She is also a board member of many organizations, including Alianza por la Solidaridad, the Platform of Women Artists against Gender Violence; and International Justice Watch. She has carried out women's rights projects in Algeria, Argentina, Colombia, the Dominican Republic, Egypt, Guatemala, Israel, Mexico, Morocco, Palestine and Syria. In 2012, she received the "Women Together Award" which was presented at the UN headquarters in New York. Ms. Sánchez de Lara has written extensively about equality, gender violence, sexual harassment, suicide and women's rights for legal and academic publications and has published seven books. Her latest book focuses on worker's rights and is titled "Freelance and collaborators: employment relationship.” She is a sought after speaker, university guest lecturer and commentator in the media.
