Cowboy Mach Bell, a Boston-based singer with prominent hard-rock groups such as the JOE PERRY PROJECT (1982-84), THUNDERTRAIN (1974-1980), and most recently, the MACH BELL EXPERIENCE, which he founded in 2022. Initially trained classically on cello during his childhood, Mach transitioned to the electric guitar and later, in the early 70s, embraced the role of frontman and lead vocalist. His nickname "Cowboy" was bestowed upon him by Joe Perry during their collaboration in the JOE PERRY PROJECT, where they wrote, recorded, and toured together for the album "Once a Rocker Always a Rocker," released by MCA Universal/Geffen Records. Mach, a lifelong diarist, draws from his road journals and diaries for his memoir “Rock Survival” as he did for his debut, "Once a Rocker Always a Rocker: A Diary" (2019) and the epic follow up "I Gotta Rock" (2021). The three books all feature the same central characters and can be read in any order. Cowboy Mach remains active in creating new books and new music, engaged in travel, concerts, book signings, media events, and artist panels. Looking ahead, Cowboy has plans for more rock, leading the dynamic, NEMA nominated, MACH BELL EXPERIENCE. When not immersed in writing or rocking, Cowboy enjoys screenwriting, filmmaking, flower gardening, cooking, and beach combing alongside his wife, Julia. Additionally, he has crafted a backyard frog pond, complemented by his feline companion, a Bombay cat named Lucky.
