My story reflects the view that economic inequality is the root cause of the demise of democracy as well as planetary ecocide. If you can relate to this messaging, then Invasive Species should resonate with you. Like minded readers describe Invasive Species as a thinking person’s spiritual thriller, with mystery and horror elements. Many of the incidents in this book were taken from my personal experiences. I was raised in an Evangelical Christian cult, just as the heroine of this story. Some of today’s social scholars have labeled those beliefs as End Times Fascism, a doctrine that features a nihilistic belief in a world-ending Armageddon. What appears to be new, however, is that prominent billionaires today see the opportunity to direct fear inspired by these biblical prophecies; to make fast money through exploitation and extraction that will certainly precipitate societal and planetary collapse. They seem to prefer indulgence to the sacrifice of being stewards of God’s creation. To the zealots and money changers, the end times justify the means, so they say, "bring it on." Rather than wringing my hands about what is happening in our world today, I put them to work writing a satirical warning. So, if you’re looking for a message that reflects the importance of facts, truth, and the wisdom of the ages as seen by non-western spiritual teachings, including Buddhist traditions, this story may be your cup of Yogi Tea.
