Since he was a kid, Christopher Amato wanted to work in law enforcement. After earning a degree with honors in Criminology from Florida State University, he secured his first assignment with the Department of Justice. Later, he worked for the Department of Defense. Although neither job was anything like he remembered from television—of course they weren’t—he worked an entire career as a federal agent. Following his retirement, he pursued another dream of writing. His first two books, Shadow Investigation and Peace River Village, are crime thrillers. The latest book, An Author's Dozen Thirteen Short Stories, will be published in April 2026 and covers numerous genres with each story offering a unique glimpse into the human experience. Another book to follow in July 2026, Leaving Marinella, is a sweeping family saga that explores immigration in a way that's both timely and timeless. Christopher is currently working on another crime thriller novel. He and his wife live in North Carolina.
