Christine Romans is CNN's chief business correspondent and anchor of Early Start, 4 am to 6 am ET on CNN. She joined CNN in 1999, covering the opening bell at the New York Stock exchange, then anchoring Street Sweep on CNNfn. Before that, she covered markets, commodities and the economy for Reuters and Knight-Ridder Financial News. "Smart is the New Rich Money Guide for Millennials" is her third book, and the culmination of 20 years of covering money and business news. She's the inspiration for the Sloane Sabbith character in HBO's "Newsroom." Born, raised and educated in Iowa, Romans lives in New York City with her husband and three sons.
