After building his career on being early to new technology, Christian Martin writes about how AI can free humans from machine-shaped lives. When the 2008 financial crisis erased his job prospects out of college, he built an iPhone app that hit the top 10 in the App Store's finance category without knowing how to code. He traveled the world out of a backpack for two years and realized freedom doesn't always equate to a meaningful life, responsibility and purpose does. He then founded DigitalNomad, a multi-million-dollar education company that taught more than 10,000 people to work from anywhere — years before the pandemic made remote work normal. He ran it from 25 countries. When ChatGPT launched, he shut the company down while it was still profitable and started building with AI instead. In one afternoon he replicated a project he once paid a quarter million dollars for, and now has multiple AI related businesses. He writes about the future of technology to help others be early too.

Before any of that, he was a collegiate national champion in snowboard slopestyle. He lives on an island with his wife and kids, and still rides every winter.
