Chris Speck is a writer and musician from East Yorkshire in the UK. His novel The Witch at the End of the Lane is a historical thriller set in Beverley, 1794. Expect ghosts (four of them), a kidnap, and at least one murder. The Last Ride is set during Hull Fair. It's the final episode in the series and might just be the end of the line for Our Dave. This Dark Water, is a WW1 seafaring tale set in 1915. Stricken Hull trawler, the Kestrel, is hunted across the North Sea by SM U-19, a German U-boat. Chris spent his twenties travelling the world, first as a guitar teacher, and then teaching English in countries as diverse as Hungary, Spain and Papua New Guinea, before returning to the flat lands of East Yorkshire. He also plays washboard in the legendary skiffle group, Black Kes.
