Chineme Emeghara was born in in Enugu, South East of Nigeria and moved to the UK in 2006 . Her love of reading was fostered at a young age by her father on their weekly bookshop visits. In her father's study in Enugu, she immersed herself in books and travelled the world vicariously. As an undergraduate in Nigeria , Chineme academically explored her interest in creative writing ; graduating as one of best students with a grade point average of 4.45 out of 5 (Bachelor of Arts Mass Communication). Chineme has continued to explore her love of reading, research, writing and understanding human behaviour. She was awarded the Acas Wales Prize for the Best Dissertation (MSc Human Resources Management) in 2013. A black professional in the UK, Chineme has been exposed to diverse experiences, , opportunities, challenges and contradictions that are the realities of life in modern times. Chineme continues to focus on preserving an African and globally relevant identity for herself whilst enabling a strong sense of identity in her three children. The Day Must Come is her first novel and is a complete work of fiction. The story line was inspired by her fascination with her parents stories of the experiences of postgraduate students abroad in the 1960's, race issues, the stigma surrounding pregnancy before marriage for the Nigerian female and the shame society imposes on rape victims. Smoke and Mirrors is her second novel. The story line for Smoke and Mirrors was inspired by Chineme's commitment to the campaign against Domestic Violence. The novel explores Domestic Violence , the contradictions that surround it and impact on lives . There is particular focus on social cultural norms imposed on the African female and the stigma surrounding Domestic Violence.
