I’m an award-winning author, editor, indexer, photographer, technical communications consultant, and mental health advocate who lives in southwestern Washington State. My published books are Those Wild Northwest Days, Second Edition (Tabby Cat Communications, 2026); The Best I Can Do (Tabby Cat Communications, 2024); Rainbows in the Snow (Tabby Cat Communications, 2024); Those Wild Northwest Days (first edition, Trafford Publishing, 2005); Beautiful America’s Seattle (Beautiful America Publishing, 1999 and 2005); and Beautiful America’s Idaho (Beautiful America Publishing, 2001). I’ve contributed chapters about findability to The Language of Content Strategy (XML Press, 2014) and The Language of Technical Communication (XML Press, 2016), and my story about my technical writing career is featured in Women in Technical Communication: From typewriters to touchscreens: a history by the women who did the work (XML Press, 2026). When not writing, I enjoy long walks, reading, listening to music, and hanging out with my cat. I also volunteer at an animal shelter and facilitate the Family to Family course designed for caregivers of family members with mental health issues for the Southwest Washington affiliate of the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI).
