Originally from Buffalo, New York, Carol Kroh Schmitt also called Ohio and Florida home until she planted roots in Iowa. Carol's never met a stranger, and she's come to know countless people from all walks of life, each with unique stories. Carol's writing is influenced by the stories she has heard and her own experiences. Her time as a volunteer Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) has shaped her next book inspired by children who journey through the foster care system as they search for a forever home. More than an author, Carol is also a mother, grandmother, and retired teacher who shares her life with her husband. She finds solace in her garden, and the family cabin, but her love for people and her need for social interaction often leads her back to the classroom as a substitute teacher and mentor.
