Carol Bass was born in Nashville, Tennessee and grew up reading fantasy novels with her grandmother, instilling in her a love for storytelling from a young age. She graduated with honors from Cornell University, where she studied literature, playwriting, and screenwriting. She then migrated to Los Angeles to pursue television writing, where she has written episodes of L.A.'S FINEST and ALERT: MISSING PERSONS UNIT and was the winner of Ubisoft's 2021 TV Fellowship. She enjoys Martial Arts and has a 4th degree black belt in Taekwondo and a 3rd degree black belt in Goju Shorei Weapons. She’s also a runner, having completed the Dopey Challenge, a four-day event totaling 48.6 miles. Basically, Carol’s covered for whichever choice her fight or flight instinct makes. She is excited to have finished her first middle grade fantasy novel CROWNS OF CAPFICI, which was a Quarterfinalist in ScreenCraft Cinematic Book Competition 2024, a Second Rounder in Launch Pad Prose Competition 2023, and Top 50 in Roadmap Writers - Roadmap's Write Start Manuscript Competition 2021.
