A prairie girl, born and raised in Saskatoon, Canada, the sixth child from a family of seven, Carmen received her B.Ed. from the University of Saskatchewan. Carmen and her husband, Jim, have nine children, all of whom they have homeschooled. They are now grand­parents to seven­teen, as the family continues to grow. In 2002, Carmen's first novel, Arms of Love, was written in response to a story that was forcing its way out of her heart amidst the fullness of life with five young children and one on the way. A homeschooling mother does not simply interrupt her daily momentum to go pound out a book on her keyboard, without feeling truly compelled to do so. There was a conviction driving those sleepless nights that this story needed to be shared with others. That novel, brought to life during the wee hours of the night, went on to touch tens of thousands of lives, along with its sequel, Surrender, which she published in 2007. Carmen and her husband then spent over twelve years running a youth and family ministry, working with and training young adults to share the Gospel through putting on retreats and events throughout Western Canada, as their family continued to grow up. In 2024, she returned to the pen, working alongside her adult child­ren, and revised Arms of Love and Surrender, both to be released in 2026. She has continued the series with book three, All For You, also to be released in 2026, and with books four, In His Time, and five, For His Glory, hopefully soon to follow. With a writing style that is refreshing, engaging, and invitingly whole­some, Carmen’s books provide an experience in Christian fiction that you cannot find elsewhere. Loved by men and women of all ages and stages of life, these books catch many readers by surprise as they are entertained, inspired and edified, with a renewed sense of hope for what it means to live fully our Christian faith in this day and age.
