Carlos de Torres is an experienced Executive in the IT market across Europe and North America. He’s held several Senior management positions in Europe, Canada and the US for more than 20 years. His actual job is Managing Director within Google Cloud, where he leads the Startup ecosystem team in EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) and the relationship with over 500 VCs across the territory. Prior to this role, he led WW Google Cloud Partnerships in the Cybersecurity, Productivity and Infrastructure businesses. Carlos joined Google from Microsoft, where he worked for over 11 years. He is no stranger to the Partner ecosystem, as his last role was Vice President ISV, Industry and Private Equity within Microsoft in the US. He held other senior leadership positions in the US, Canada and Spain (his country of origin). Prior to Microsoft, Carlos held several senior manager roles at Telefonica for almost 10 years, where he led the successful development of the retail and SMB sales forces. As an entrepreneur, Carlos has been involved in several projects across Europe, South America and the US. Carlos has a degree in Computer Science Engineering, an MBA from IESE and is a SEP Stanford graduate. "The Seller Whisperer" is the first book published by Carlos, responding to his interest in sharing the experience and learnings of multiple M&A operations in different verticals. The empathetic approach to these deals, and the methodology developed by Carlos and Ignacio (business partners for more than 15 years) has resulted in many hypergrowth exits that now they are willing to share. Carlos resides between London, South Florida and the Pacific Northwest with his wife, Carol, two college student children and their labradoodle Nora. He is deeply involved in the community, facilitating and sponsoring the integration of technology into the learning process. Carlos is passionate for cars, architecture and interior design, skiing, sailing and simply enjoying time together with family and friends.
