Camille Fitzgerald is a first-generation U.S. citizen with South American roots—now proudly Australian. She is a writer, mental health professional, and mother of five. A proudly neurospicy, unrepentant swearer, she has been married to James for nearly twenty years. With a decade in the mental health field, she writes with empathy, humour, and unflinching honesty about motherhood, identity, and transformation. Her debut memoir, Miss Metamorph, explores matrescence, loss, and the quiet resilience that follows heartbreak. As a child, she was a bookworm and identified deeply with Roald Dahl’s Matilda. Decades later, Camille rediscovered writing after years devoted to raising her family and supporting others through their own metamorphoses. When she isn’t writing, she sings a cappella competitively with Sweet Adelines Australia, creates memories with her family, and spends downtime with James, her children, her chosen family, and their beloved pets.
