C.T. Walsh writes the kind of books he would have wanted to read as a kid—fast, funny, adventurous, and difficult to put down.

He is the award-winning author of The Rise of Robin Hood, the twelve-book Middle School Mayhem series, and numerous books for young readers.

His newest series, The Rise of Robin Hood, goes back to the beginning of the legend—before the hood, before the Merry Men, and before anyone thought to call Robin a hero. Beginning with Outlaw’s Dawn, the series follows a thirteen-year-old Robin of Locksley as loss, friendship, courage, and more than a few questionable decisions begin turning an ordinary boy into the outlaw history remembers.

On the considerably less medieval side of things, C.T. is also the author of Middle School Mayhem, twelve fast, funny adventures about friendship, rivals, embarrassing parents, terrible decisions, school catastrophes, and an occasionally alarming amount of potty humor.

Whether he’s sending readers into Sherwood Forest or unleashing chaos in a middle-school hallway, C.T. believes the first job of a children’s author is pretty simple:

Make them want to turn the page.

There are plenty of things competing for kids’ attention. C.T. wants books to compete—and win. So the adventure comes first. So does the humor. Along the way, his stories tend to sneak in things like friendship, courage, loyalty, perseverance, and figuring out who you want to become.

Besides writing, C.T. loves spending time with his family, coaching youth sports, and successfully turning seemingly unsandwichable things into spectacular sandwiches while simultaneously claiming that he never eats carbs. He assures you it’s not easy.

He knows what you’re thinking: this guy sounds complex, a little mysterious, and maybe even dashingly handsome—assuming you haven’t been to the optometrist in a while.

And you might be right.

C.T. still believes there’s room in a great story for heroes and underdogs, big adventures and small victories, life lessons and even fart jokes.

Because if a kid is laughing while turning the page, they’re still turning the page.
