C.M. Dinsmore is a writer and scholar who holds a doctorate in Literature and Writing, with earlier training in film and media studies. The film-school grounding still shows in the work: scenes built to be seen, and settings that carry as much weight as character.

C.M. is the author of the novel The Melody That Binds (2023), set in the Philippine jungle during the Second World War, and of The Robinsonade and Authorial Context (2027), a critical study of the castaway narrative from Robinson Crusoe to The Martian. Writing as both novelist and critic, C.M. reads the genre from inside the craft as well as from the scholar's distance.

Years of cross-cultural immersion shape both books, and the work extends across the narrative arts, including fiction, screenwriting, and digital media.
