C.B.Phillips was a career Soldier in the United States Army and wrote this series of Blue Books while in Iraq. Periodically, the realities of combat disrupted the fantasy world of Princess Blue in very ominous ways. Notations of rocket attacks and other such dangers are annotated exactly where they occurred while writing these books. Operation Iraqi Freedom: In the land between the rivers, cursed for more than a millennium, I met some of the most wonderful and giving people on earth. Unfortunately, I also met some of the most inherently diabolical characters, thereby proving to me beyond any doubt that evil does in fact exist. In stepping back from the reality of life in a war-torn country, I replenished my spirit by venturing into an imaginary land far, far away. I used my daily experiences in Iraq and combined them with the stories I told to my family two decades ago to create The Blue Series. The stories are the result of blending present day realities with imagination and the recollections from the past, in hope of a better future. Please enjoy this little escape from reality as it was through writing these stories that I found some very limited peace and solitude in a war torn country. Also, the imaginary characters became very real in my own mind and provided a psychological escape from what I was witnessing, during the daily clash between good and evil in modern day Mesopotamia.
