Bridget Pitt grew up in South Africa where she currently lives. She began writing in support of the anti-apartheid struggle in the 1980's, and today writes fiction, nonfiction and poetry. Her first novel, Unbroken Wing, drew on these experiences. It was published in 1998, and her second, The Unseen Leopard in 2010. This has been shortlisted for the 2011 Commonwealth Prize and the 2012 Wole Soyinka Literature in Africa Award. Her third novel, Notes from the Lost Property Department, was released in 2015. Her short fiction was shortlisted for the 2012 Commonwealth Prize, and runner-up in the Short.Sharp.Stories competition in 2015.
