Brian McCann is the co-author of HATS: Heartfelt Acts for Teachers, Staff & Students. He finished his 18-year career as principal of Joseph Case High School in Swansea, Mass., from which he graduated in 1980. He taught English and Journalism for 11 years at his alma mater and then transitioned to high school administration. He is part of the compilation 100 No-Nonsense Things That ALL School Leaders Should STOP Doing. Brian has also contributed to NASSP’s Principal Leadership magazine celebrating the power of storytelling as a school administrator. Brian is a passionate national speaker and loves to share his experiences in disrupting school leadership norms, honing a positive school culture, and showcasing the community power of viral snow day videos. Brian McCann was Massachusetts’ 2011 High School Principal of the Year and is one of NASSP’s 2018 National Digital Principals of the Year.
