Blair Lauren Brown is the founder and CEO of Verté Essentials, a luxury wellness and beauty brand featured in Forbes, and Cosmopolitan among others. One of the first all-natural beauty and wellness products to reach US and international shelves, featuring cannabis CBD as an ingredient. Verté maintains a reputation for innovative and effective formulations while providing personalized guidance and recommendations to their customers. Bringing together a host of diversely qualified partners from biochemical engineers to estheticians, and wellness practitioners to a master cannabis-cultivators, in creating the formulations Brown has created a trusted process for bringing a, formerly illegal, ancient plant back into the respected forefront of our culture. Brown’s cannabis roots extend beyond the business recalling her role on the ground in early 2004 assisting in medical grow operations supporting California’s Prop 215. Following a path of deep appreciation for the journey of cannabis culture through prohibition to present day, Brown’s advocacy in the space illustrates dedication to a more progressive future. Following her TEDx Sun Valley talk Cannabis Mirror, where she explores the history of Cannabis in the USA, she authored a book on CBD (you are holding it now), developed and ran a study on CBD and naturally occurring cannabinoids in breast milk, directed and produced Burning Down the House, a documentary on the legalization of cannabis surrounding the AIDS/HIV epidemic, and more. As a certified advanced Sadhana (meaning spiritual) Yoga (500RYT) teacher she had been able to combine her leadership in wellness practices with her cannabis experience and advocacy across formulation and onto practice and use. She can be found teaching cannabis history, medicine & ritual, Sadhana Yoga and other wellness practices at events & retreats across the US or in her resident towns of Manhattan, New York and Sun Valley, Idaho.
