New York Times Bestselling author Bill Janovitz is a founding member of the band Buffalo Tom, who formed at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst in 1986 and have released ten albums. His first book was called Exile on Main St., about The Rolling Stones album of the same name, published by Bloomsbury in 2005. In July 2013, St, Martin's Press published Rocks Off: 50 Tracks That Tell the Story of the Rolling Stones, just in time for the band's 50th anniversary tour. Leon Russell: The Master of Space and Time's Journey Through Rock & Roll History, the definitive biography of Russell, was an NYT Bestseller. The Cars: Let the Stories Be Told (2025), features a foreword from The Cars’ Greg Hawkes, and full participation from all three surviving band members. It’s the definitive book about the band. Bill continues to record new music and perform live.
