Bill was born and raised near Detroit. He started going to Lake City, Missaukee County, Michigan, when his grandfather bought 40 acres of second-growth forest from the State of Michigan in 1952 and moved a small white cottage onto the land. He has been in love with the area ever since. As a boy, Bill spent weeks at a time with his grandparents and crippled uncle in the white cabin. Mornings would see him climbing trees and doing occasional chores. After lunch, the four would go to Lake Missaukee so Bill could swim and play in the pristine water. After supper, Grandpa and Bill often took walks in the woods. It was an idyllic time. The unnamed story that would become the time travel novel, Marooned in 1799, percolated in Bill’s mind for years before he put in on paper during Covid. Writing was something Bill had flirted with over the years, but this was his first serious effort to create a book-length manuscript. He soon became addicted to writing. Bill followed Marooned in 1799 with The Deadly Scam, a tale of love, violence and revenge. The second book of the Brennan Family Saga, The Search for 1799, picks up the Brennan family two years after returning to 2023 Michigan. The third book of the Brennan Saga, Death in 1799, offers more unexpected twists and adventures in time.
