A graduate of Dalhousie University with a background in English, Sociology, and Music, Beth Norrad's true education began in the freshly bedded stalls of England's most rigorous riding school. Transitioning from the lecture hall to the saddle, she earned the moniker "The Colonial Cowboy" for her ability to stay aboard even the most unrideable creatures—a skill honed during a rural childhood where supervision was scarce and baler twine was considered perfectly acceptable tack.

For many years, Beth co-founded and operated a premier riding school alongside her partners. During one of the school's most challenging periods, Barb McDonald—one of the original "Wild Bunch" from their youth and widely regarded as one of the finest horsewomen in the industry—became an integral part of the team, helping to provide stability and support through those years.

Together, they mentored a generation of riders who have gone on to establish and lead successful stables of their own. Today, Beth Norrad brings that same stay-on-board spirit to her writing, blending decades of equestrian expertise with the magic, wisdom, and heart of the horse world.
