Originally from Surrey and now living in Yorkshire, Beth received her first electronic communication aid at the age of four, ready to start mainstream school. From the very first day she wanted other children, like her, with little or no speech to be heard, listened to and understood. This early passion has never waned; Beth continues to strive to empower augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) users to fulfil their own communication potential. Her work is ground in daily lived experience, her postgraduate studies in social policy, as well as drawing on years of playing elite sport including representing Great Britain in the Paralympics. Beth is a multi-award winning advocate including being named on the Shaw Disability Power 100 as the number 1 Grassroots and Community Advocate in the UK.
