Ben McKinnon began his writing career with the release of Forests of Farallon. Originally written as a story for his chilldren, it has since captured the admiration of readers all over the world. As a teenager, Ben made adventure a part of his life, working on a pineapple plantation in Hawaii, guiding fishing trips in back-country Oregon, and volunteering for two years in post-Soviet-era Ukraine, where he learned to value and appreciate the mysteries and differences of other people, cultures, and languages. As an adult, he uses his Bachelor's and Master's degrees to combine science with imagination, breathing life into creatures long since dead.
