Author, speaker, and mentor figure, Ben Malcolmson has been the Special Assistant to Coach Pete Carroll for the Seattle Seahawks for the past eight years. He first met Coach Carroll when he was a newspaper reporter for USC's Daily Trojan and then, three years later, accidentally earned a roster spot as wide receiver on the 2006 Rose Bowl Champion football team. After his one fairytale season ended, he became Director of Online Media for USC Football, where he created and managed the groundbreaking online presence for the Trojans as well as PeteCarroll.com and was a contributing writer for Sports Illustrated, The Associated Press, USA Today, and The Dallas Morning News. www.benmalcolmson.com Fun facts: · Helped bring Chick-fil-A to Seattle with his friend Char after a video of their 13-hour road trip went viral. · Ran a 4:39 mile as a 15-year-old · Loves drinking a Coke a day · Has gone skydiving and bungee jumping · Volunteers with YoungLife, currently leading a group of 12th grade boys · Grew up in Dallas and has also lived in Chicago, Hartford, St. Louis, LA, and Seattle · Enjoys working out and participating in outdoor sports activities · Enjoys baking as a hobby (he makes a great funfetti cake) · Enjoys traveling around the country and world (has been to all 50 states)
