Growing up in a small town in the heart of England where not much ever happened, was the perfect place for an imagination to flourish. Having gone to the same secondary school as noted filmmakers Ken Loach and Gareth Edwards, it was inevitable that Ben Bruce would end up telling stories sooner, rather than later.

After a successful career behind the scenes in television, Ben continued to pitch ideas and scripts. One rejected story refused to stay dead. It became The Regulators, a successful four-book thriller series with more titles to come. Ben also writes the Dead Men novels, a historical crime series set in 1960s London.

A member of the Crime Writers' Association, Ben splits his time between the day job, writing, interviewing authors on the UKCBC, coaching a junior flag football team, and bringing up a young family. He does not understand the concept of downtime.
