About Audrey

Perhaps it all started with the monsters under my bed.
I was born in 1969 in Trier, an ancient Roman city filled with history, old walls and places surrounded by legends. When I was very young, my grandmother would tell me stories and local legends – and I was especially fascinated by the story of how Trier Cathedral came to be.

It didn’t take long, however, for my own imagination to take over. I was absolutely convinced that monsters lived under my bed. In the garden, I talked to elves and dwarfs who, to me, were just as real and perfectly ordinary as the people around me. Fantastic worlds never seemed like strange places. They were simply there.
And then, eventually, I grew up.
My imagination apparently didn’t.

So I had to find somewhere for all the characters, creatures, adventures and stories that kept living in my head. The solution was actually quite simple: I decided to share some of them with children.
In 2016, my first children’s book, Sharj und das Wasser des Lebens, was published. Since then, I have written more than twenty books – fantastic adventures, animal stories, unusual heroes, mysterious worlds and, every now and then, something just a little spooky.

My latest book, Das Haus der sieben Monde (The House of the Seven Moons), brings together seven slightly spooky stories filled with mysterious events, where things are not always quite what they seem.
Today, I live with my family on Spain’s Costa Blanca. The monsters under my bed have disappeared by now.

The elves and dwarfs? I’m not so sure about them.
