Armida Espinoza is a children's author and retired bilingual elementary school teacher whose stories celebrate courage, kindness, friendship, and hope. A first-generation Mexican American, Armida draws inspiration from her personal journey, her years in the classroom, and her deep love for children and animals. Through her books, she hopes to help young readers feel seen, valued, and encouraged to believe in themselves. Armida's award-winning debut, "Brave Lolis Learns English/La valiente Lolis aprende inglés", was inspired by her own experience learning a new language, starting school, and finding where she belonged. In "Brave Lolis's Box of Hope/La valiente Lolis y su caja de esperanza", Armida continues Lolis's journey with a heartfelt message about resilience, generosity, and the power of kindness. Her love for animals shines through in "Best Friends Forever/Mejores amigos para toda la vida", a warm story inspired by the loyalty, comfort, and healing that pets bring to our lives. A recipient of the International Latino Book Award and other notable honors, Armida lives in Fresno, California, with her husband and her beloved furry friends, Sol and Luna. When she is not writing, she enjoys connecting with readers and sharing stories that put a little more hope in the hands of children everywhere.
