Anya Lautenbach is a self-taught gardener with a passion for the environment and championing neurodiversity. She is also a Sunday Times and Irish Times chart-topping author with her first two books: The Money-Saving Gardener and The Money-Saving Garden Year. She grew up in Poland, and after travelling for many years in Germany and the Scottish Highlands, she now lives with her husband and two sons in Buckinghamshire, UK, where her garden has blossomed through years of propagation and clever gardening tricks. Anya’s lifelong passion for nature and for propagating plants inspired her to share her knowledge to her followers across social media. There, as Anya the Garden Fairy @anya_thegarden_fairy, she provides easy-to-follow tutorials covering a range of accessible and achievable gardening techniques, and reveals tips and tricks for creating high-impact, low-cost gardens that work in harmony with nature. Anya also uses her platform to raise awareness about neurodiversity and the positive influence that horticulture can have on mental health. She proves that gardening does not need expensive equipment or specialist training – anyone can transform their garden and create something truly amazing. In 2025 Anya has been appointed as National Garden Scheme Ambassador.
