Anthony Owens is a decorated Navy veteran, federal IT specialist, and award-winning author. He served 20 years on active duty in the United States Navy, earning numerous accolades before continuing his career in technology as a federal employee and lead network engineer supporting Langley Air Force Base in Hampton, Virginia. Anthony holds a bachelor’s degree in Sociology and a master’s degree in Business with a concentration in Information Security from Saint Leo University. Beyond his professional career, Anthony is a writer who draws from a powerful personal story. Born in Dawson, Georgia, and raised in Brooklyn, New York by a single mother, he overcame a difficult upbringing and transformed those challenges into purpose-driven storytelling. His memoir, Syrup Sandwiches: Choose Not to Give Up!, won the 2023 Next Generation Indie Book Award in the BIPOC category and later earned the International Impact Book Award in Life Experience, Memoir, and Motivational categories. He is also the author of the children’s book Raw Power, which addresses bullying; the suspense novel Reasons; and Fatherhood Matters!, which highlights the critical role fathers play in shaping their children’s lives. He recently published a collection of short stories, The Day We Forgot to Smile, and is preparing to release the sequel to Reasons, titled Reasons II: The Aftermath. Anthony’s message is simple but powerful: resilience, responsibility, and the choice not to give up can change lives.
