Annie Caulfield was a travel writer, dramatist and broadcaster. Her travel books explore Australia, Benin, Jordan and her homeland, Northern Ireland. She published in newspapers and magazines, made documentaries for BBC Radio 4 and appeared regularly on From Our Own Correspondent and Crossing Continents. Annie wrote many acclaimed plays for BBC Radio 3 and Radio 4, including Robeson, with Lenny Henry. Her stage work included Didn’t Die for the Clean Break Theatre Company which won a Time Out magazine award. Annie’s children’s book, Katie Milk Solves Crimes, was shortlisted for the Glen Dimplex award and longlisted for Ottakars’ book awards. Annie created the Grim Tales children’s series for Channel 4, script edited The Real McCoy comedy series and wrote episodes of the cult show This Life. A BBC Radio Four play, also called My Cambodian Twin, about Annie’s struggle to finish the book of the same name was broadcast in May 2019.
