Howdy Pardners. I hate to disappoint you, but Andy Thomson is the pen name of Jeri Massi. When I was working with BJU Press in the 1980's, we all discussed the difficulties of getting boys to read cowboy stories written by a woman. Thus the pen name of Andy Thomson was born. It is the masculinized version of the name Ann Thomson. And that person, Ann Thomson, was the God-fearing grandmother of a person who had done me a lot of good in my life. I wrote two Westerns under the name of Andy Thomson. And I originally wrote _Morning Star of the Reformation_ under my real name, Jeri Massi, but when BJU Press excised sections from the original manuscript that didn't jive with Fundamentalist rhetoric, I put the novel under my pen name.
