Andrew Lawston grew up in a small New Forest town in the UK. Ponies, cricket matches on village greens, steam fairs, the whole bucolic bit. It's fair to say he didn't fully appreciate this at the time, and also became a voracious reader of Doctor Who novelisations, Terry Pratchett, Alan Garner, Philip K Dick, and many more. He wrote his first stories aged seven. Over the last twenty years Andrew has been widely published in magazines, online, and in various anthologies. Andrew now writes a mix of original fiction - notably the Detective Daintypaws series - and translations of classic French novels, especially Arthur Bernède's Chantecoq novels. As an occasional actor and playwright, Andrew records his own audiobooks with enthusiasm and silly voices. Andrew lives in West London with his wife Mel, for whom he strives to cook authentic Asian food without using coriander. Together they go for long walks, see as much theatre as possible, and generally refuse to take life too seriously.
