Andrés Hatum is a Professor in Human Resource Management. He has done his PhD (Philosophy Doctorate) in Management and Organization at Warwick Business School (University of Warwick), England. He also obtained a BA in Politics and International Relationships at the Catholic University in Argentina. He later furthered his education with an Executive MBA at IAE Business and Management School, Austral University, Argentina. His professional experience in management began as Assessor of the Home Office and later in the Economy Ministry in Argentina. Later he became the HR Manager at Transportes Furlong. Prof. Hatum´s academic activities started in 1992 when he was named Associate Professor at the Catholic University. From 1995 till 2015 he has been full-time faculty member in Human Resources and Organizational Creativity at IAE Business School. At IAE he taught in different programs delivered at IAE such as the MBA programs, Executive Programs and Customized Programs. He is also Visiting Professor at IESE Business School (Madrid & Barcelona); Adolfo Ibañez (Santiago de Chile & Miami); and, Nyenrode Business Universiteit (The Netherlands). As a consultant and coach, he worked with different companies. The focus of the consulting activities has been on organizational change, HR systems and implementation of HR processes, talent management process and high performing teams. Some firms in which Andrés Hatum has work as a consultant and coach are: AGD, Banesco (Venezuela), Tigo-Millicom (Colombia, Miami), , McDonalds Latinamerica, Banco Santander, Coca Cola, Nestlé, Deloitte, Laboratorios Bagó, Pfizer, Repsol (Spain) among others. He has published articles in different journals such as British Journal of Management, Management Research, Harvard Business Review (Spanish) and Family Business Review. He has also published books in Spanish and, in English; Adaptation or Expiration in Family Firms: Organizational Flexibility in Emerging Economies (Edward Elgar Publishing, 2007) ; Next Generation Talent Management (Palgrave, 2010); The New Workforce Challenge (Palgrave, 2013); Mastering Creativity in Organizations (Edward Elgar, 2017); Organisational Flexibility in an Age of Chaos: Mismanagement, Disorganisation and Strategy (Routledge, 2025) Prof Hatum´s research focuses are: organizational change and flexibility in organizations, organizational creativity, talent management, career development, leadership and high performing teams.
