Andrea Corrie BEM is a retired medical secretary and author of fiction, non-fiction, poetry and prose.

Following the loss of her nineteen-year-old son James to drowning in 2005, Andrea found solace in writing about grief and bereavement. Her first book, Into the Mourning Light, was published in 2014, followed by Living in the Mourning Light in 2020. Both books explore life after bereavement, offering hope and encouragement to those living with loss.

Andrea was awarded the British Empire Medal in the King's New Year's Honours List in 2023 for her work as a water safety campaigner.

Since 2024, Andrea has edited Compassion, the magazine of The Compassionate Friends, and she also facilitates creative writing workshops. She runs a local writing group and increasingly incorporates Scripture and the Psalms into her writing.

Andrea lives in Devon and is currently working on her third book.
