Amy Shannon, an American storyteller from upstate New York, channels the strength of women through her prolific writing. Running the popular book review site “Amy’s Bookshelf Reviews” and a writer’s blog, she supports Indie authors. After surviving cancer in 2004 and a domestic violence assault in 2005, which left her with lifelong migraines, she pursued further education, earning degrees in English, Adult Education, and an MBA. A mother of three supportive sons, and one son, semi-likes here. Amy has written over 140 works, including her 2024 nonfiction historical book, Balls-Town: A Community of History, Friends, Neighbors, and Lingering Spirits, emphasizing the importance of preserving local history. Despite chronic migraines, her Functional Neurological disorder (FND) [a disorder that mimics other disorders and increases symptoms of her RA, tremors, and awake seizures] she continues her work in literary consulting, reviews, and promotions. Amy has also focused her writing more short stories, but also has an upcoming book as a writer’s resource. Amy recently wrote and published her first children’s book, and did all of the illustrations herself. It’s called “What am I?” Amy Shannon is an editor. Writer. Book Reviewer. Literary Consultant.
