"I've been working in the field of sex and intimacy for 25 years, and I have first-hand knowledge (both from my clients and my own experience) of how frustrating a relationship that lacks sexual pleasure can be," Amara says. "For one thing, people are still really hesitant to talk about sex in a safe, candid way that offers any real solutions. Instead of conversations that bring you closer, unexpressed feelings lead to more separation, frustration and disappointment. That’s because few of us were taught that it’s okay to talk about sex or to ask for what we want. And if you do discuss your disappointments, there’s always the chance you might create hurt feelings. Too often, any mention of sexual frustration comes across as criticism. Let’s face it: sex is a fragile subject. "Like so many others to whom I have presented these teachings, my experience of sex was something I managed well enough, but more often than not, it became a source of difficulty and suffering. Sometimes sex was fun in the beginning of a relationship, but then for reasons I did not understand, my desire for sexual pleasure faded, I didn’t really enjoy sex all that much, and I didn’t know why. "What I discovered as I began this work is that almost everyone comes from this exact same place where passion drifts into routine, mediocre and almost obligatory sex. Virtually no one is taught about the beautiful, truly transcendent experience that sexual intimacy can – and should – be. The good news is that the teachings in my book, 'The Sexual Practices of Quodoushka' work every time, for every relationship. Amara also specializes in teaching sexual restoration practices from the Taoist White Tigress tradition. Her many workshops include Feminine Spring; Reclaiming Your Sexual Vitality, the Women’s Yin Way Rejuvenation Course, and Men’s Sex Forums.
