Allen Whitlock (1951) author of thrilling thought-provoking fiction was born and raised in Portland, Oregon. His youth was spent with a loving family, in a tiny house, on a dirt road, with chickens in the yard, running barefoot through the dandelions, and reading. Allen went on to study acting and played guitar in an 80's era rock band and was a Systems Analyst at an HMO and a large University. He now lives in Grand Rapids, Michigan with his wife Judy and their dog Hailey. His 434-page crime novel "The Last Border," co-authored by John Nelson, is set in the near future. "Toanan the Heretic" is 427 pages of super entertaining whatnot! It's a challenge the author gave himself to make hard-science sense within a novel incorporating all the whacko UFO/alien/conspiracy/secret society things you've I've seen or read. But the main goal is entertainment. It's populated by unique characters. One, is a human hybrid named Pink, who can read your thoughts if he gets close enough and aggravates you enough to increase your brainwaves. If you hold any secrets--beware! The collection, "If I Should Die Before It Wakes," contains wonders of modern speculative fiction including the title novelette--a looming ecological disaster from an unexpected quarter. Education: Portland State University, Western Oregon State College, Graduate BSBA of Aquinas College, Grand Rapids, MI.
