Alice Hlídková is a Czechoslovakian-born, New York City–raised author whose work explores love, identity, and the quiet transformations that shape a woman’s becoming. Her writing is intimate and introspective—psychological, sensual, and unflinching. She finds beauty in the mess, stillness in the ache, and light in the unseen corners of the heart. Drawing from personal experience, intuition, and attentive observation, her work meditates on connection, memory, and the hidden emotional worlds we carry. Readers and critics have compared her voice to Alice Munro’s realism, Anaïs Nin’s sensual introspection, Clarice Lispector’s metaphysical depth, and Elizabeth Gilbert’s spiritual humanism. She writes to make the invisible visible: the emotional, the spiritual, the feminine. Alice studied creative writing at Cooper Union and New York University. Her writing mentor was a Buddhist monk who encouraged her to honor the sensual layers of experience. She now lives in Valencia, Spain, where she reads regularly at local literary clubs.
