Alice Hlídková is a Czech-born author raised in New York and now based in Valencia, Spain.

Her work is driven by one central idea: Become More Human.

She writes literary fiction, autofiction, and short stories that explore intimacy, identity, relationships, and the moments that quietly change us. Drawing from lived experience, her stories blur the line between memory and fiction, inviting readers to reflect on themselves as much as the characters on the page.

Alice is the author of Love You, Again, Strange Things Married People Do, and Pretty Girl Complex. Her forthcoming collection, On Being Naked, will be released in October 2026. She was nominated for the 2026 Crystal Brew Poetry Award.

She studied creative writing at New York University and holds a master's degree from Carnegie Mellon University.

Beyond her books, Alice explores what it means to become more human through stories, communication, and consciousness. She writes the Alice Hlídková Substack Newsletter, hosts The Emergence Podcast on YouTube, and leads Storytelling Valencia via Meetup, a community where people connect through sharing stories.
