AJ O’Brien calls himself the “Millennial Made Good.” In fact, he’s been known to use the initials MMG after his name, as if this were some official designation that had been bestowed on him. Far from being smug, AJ uses this title just for a laugh. He’s one of the older Millennials. Born in Ireland, raised in England, and emigrated to the U.S. at 14, he got both his undergraduate degree and MBA at a small university in Tampa, Florida – both excellent degrees, he says, which taught him zero about how to make money but definitely taught him about student loans. While attending school, he made his first attempts at online marketing. They failed. Repeatedly. He continued them after he got his MBA, and continued to fail. While not paying down his massive student debt. Then one day, “Ding!” His first sale. Then his second. Then his third. Before long, he started to nearly break-even. Then, miracle of miracles – profit! Lather, rinse, repeat – he kept doing what was working, and kept making money. Today, four years out of graduate school, he works for himself out of his suburban home (bought with his earnings). Since he doesn’t have to drive to work, he frequently drives his “little BMW” to the store or out to eat. His passion, besides continuing to build his online marketing business, is to help others build their businesses without having to suffer the mistakes and heartaches he went through. AJ is the author of the “Online Marketing Millionaire” series. These books focus on various aspects of online marketing, sharing his secrets and those of the “gurus” with readers. Whether you are a beginner, intermediate, or a pro at online marketing, you can learn much from AJ. He’ll even tell you how to become a serial failure – just model his mistakes! Or avoid them and follow his guidance, if you prefer to actually make money. AJ loves to share his success, but he takes it all in stride. He says, in a rare moment of seriousness, that he did learn one important lesson in MBA school: The key to any successful marketing effort is to find a need and fill it. That’s what he does every day. AJ lives in suburban Tampa with his dog Toby and his cat Boots. Strangely enough, those two seem to make a cameo appearance in each of his books, in spite of his best efforts to keep them away. Rumor has it that he has a female love interest with whom he spends a lot of time. AJ will neither confirm nor deny this, though he seems to be smiling while he’s neither confirming nor denying!
