Her debut novel, Level 0, explores the disturbing space between treatment and control and what can happen when the people trusted to help a vulnerable teenager have unchecked power. Drawn to complicated characters, uncomfortable subjects, and stories that leave readers questioning what they would do in the same situation, Morris isn’t afraid to take fiction into dark places.

A lifelong animal and wildlife lover, she’ll happily plan an entire trip around seeing animals in their natural habitat. She also loves snorkeling, relaxing on a beach with an ice-cold drink, and traveling anywhere that gets her closer to nature.

Morris lives in East Texas with her husband, their two sons, and what can only be described as a small zoo of pets. When she’s home, she’s usually reading something slightly disturbing and convincing everyone else they need to read it too.
