Sectioned under the Mental Health Act in his early 40s, with decades of personal research into his symptoms and triggers, he has become a scholar of his mind. His battle is one fought with the dual swords of mindfulness techniques and cognitive behavioral therapy, which have been instrumental in reining in his runaway thoughts. He now lives in Cornwall, England. Surrounded by rugged coastline and rolling green hills. As well as hiking the coastal footpaths with his dog, he has a full-time career and a commitment to helping others as a workplace mental health confidant, mental health first aider and a trained suicide awareness first point of call. He is also a member of the Orange Button Community scheme whose members are ready to listen and talk with anyone experiencing suicidal thoughts. Additionally he is a member of the Association of Mental Health First Aiders. His writing offers invaluable insights into the human psyche and the strength that lies in understanding and mastering it.
