About this listen

"You have something I want. Something I'll happily buy… or rent."

As if my life doesn't suck enough already, my insufferable new roommate, Miller MacAvoy, seems determined to make things weird. He watches me all the time, grinning at me like a beautiful idiot, eyes boring holes into me every time I turn my back on him.

It's the last thing I need. Things haven't been going well. College isn't working out at all like I'd hoped. I'm drowning in debt, waiting tables every shift I can get, and falling behind on my studies.

Something's got to give. I can't go on like this much longer.

Miller, being the out-of-touch rich boy he is, keeps offering to throw cash my way. Obviously, I'd rather die than accept charity from him.

Still, he watches and waits. Insisting again and again that I have something he wants to buy. It's insane. I have nothing of value to sell. Absolutely nothing. My phone screen is cracked and my truck could easily be mistaken for scrap.

Wait. No! Surely not. He can't possibly be thinking that.

Can he?

An enjoyable listen. First time listening to these narrators and loved how they told the story.
While spicy, which is great, it also had a good focus on the connection.
I always get frustrated with characters in denial but also its the journey of realisation and acceptance that I am here for.
Now on to the next in the series!

Spicy and ultimately sweet

Miller MacAvoy is popular, rich, entitled and manipulative. He loves to see people get angry or comply with his demands and his new college roommate, Ryan, seems like the perfect candidate for his mind games. Ryan has not had a good run with roommates. He’s easily anxious, he has trouble making ends meet and he hates Miller on sight. He is horrified by Miller’s offer to pay him for sex. But when the bills mount up, Ryan finds himself starting to comply and, although he hates to admit it, he’s starting to enjoy himself.

This enjoyable sex-work romance was a very steamy character study. I can understanding why some people found Miller repugnant for using money to make Ryan jump through his hoops, but I found him an interesting, refreshing character: the jaded only-child of a loveless marriage who has built walls up around himself and who slowly thaws when he’s with the prickly Ryan. Ryan spent a lot of time in denial, often his self-talk was faulty. He knew it, but clung to it anyway. I loved watching him fight like a hooked fish as Miller slowly reeled him in. Another winner for me! 🎧 The always-excellent Kirt Graves was great as Ryan and Shannon Gunn had the perfect studied insouciance and schadenfreude of Miller—he hit all the notes perfectly—a brilliant narration combo!!

Deliciously steamy mind games!!!

Absolutely loved The Step Bro Situation and left a 5 star review for it but this book didn’t even come close. Also didn’t like the narration.

Disappointed :(

This is a college roommates to more romance, featuring Ryan Haraway and Miller MacAvoy, and is a the first book in the Bad Decisions series.

Ryan and Miller meet as college roommates on their first day of the new school year. Ryan has swapped roommates a fair bit, and it’s instant dislike for him when it comes to Miller. It’s the completely opposite for Miller, he is instantly attracted to Ryan and wants to make him his.

Omg. This book was slightly unhinged and I loved it, I couldn’t put it down. The push-pull between these two was extremely entertaining. Ryan constantly keeping Miller at arms length, all the while renting himself out to Miller. Miller is sporting some major red flags but we love it when it’s fictional, ah bless Miller and his obsession with Ryan. There is loads of heat and spice, witty banter, lots of persistence when it comes to breaking down Ryan’s walls. Such a great read!

The audiobook narration was well performed, I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Things to expect in this MM romance are:
1st book in series
College Roommates
Indecent proposal
Opposites attract
Forced proximity
F-Boy x Black cat rent boy
Obsessive / Possessive
