About this listen

Ellis Hope has one goal for his first year at college: be his own person. He’s determined to break free from his brother Elliot’s shadow, and get over the soul crushing attraction he has for his brother’s best friend. The campus meetup app provides an effective distraction from Gabe and Elliot making waves as the new star players for Huntston University’s baseball team.

Gabe Rodgers is loyal to his best friend to a fault, but his thoughts toward Elliot’s smaller, softer twin are anything but brotherly. When he finds out Ellis is meeting hook-ups on a campus meetup app, protectiveness, or maybe possessiveness, drives him to make an anonymous profile. Pretending to be someone else, he finds himself drawn to Ellis more than ever before.

But will their connection be as strong when Ellis finds out that his secret meetups have been with the very guy he’s been trying to avoid? And when the blindfold is removed, will either of the brothers be able to forgive Gabe for his deception?

All books in the Forbidden Goals series are standalone and do not need to be listened to in any particular order.

This is a brother’s best friend to more college romance, featuring Ellis Hope and Gabe Rodgers, and is book three in the Forbidden Goals series. The audio was worth the wait.

Ellis and Gabe have known each other for years. Gabe has been best friends with Ellis’s twin brother for as long as they can remember and Gabe as always treated Ellis like a brother. That is until high school graduation night and an encounter in the dark changes everything.

This story was a little angsty, given Gabe was hiding his identity while he was hooking up with Ellis and worrying he was never good enough for him. It was a lot of pressure, and given their one of spicy moments did not go according to plan, it amplified to those feelings. Plus Gabe was also worried his best friend, Ellis’s brother, would never talk to him if he found out about his feelings for Ellis.

There was a heck of a lot of spice and growly fiery talk in this, which was accompanied by Gabe being even more possessive and obsessed with Ellis once he got his hands on him. Ellis was great at asserting himself with Gabe, I could see him needing to do that more often though.

There was also some sweet moments and I loved how the epilogues were set way into the future. I don’t want to say anything else as I’m worried I’ll spoil it but just read the CW before jumping in.

I’m loving this series so far. I don’t think I can wait for the audio for book four and five though, I might need to do a reread when they get released.

Really enjoyed this one. So many entertaining elements; Hidden romance, twin brothers best friend,Hidden identity, college sports, first times, possessive and spicy!
I especially loved the moments of learning from their naïve mistakes and assumptions.
