have you ever not noticed that a book was a slow burn because you were so engrossed in the story? I think I made it to chapter 70 before I realised how long it took them to get together. love this

Absolutely wonderful story with compelling characters and satisfying growth. The relationships develop in an effortless yet bewitching way, and there’s just enough tension and teasing to hold you in while you follow the slow-burn romance.

This is one of those rare gems that are a fantastic and well written story with the shining addition of adult content. Not just a story that’s strapped together loosely to hold an endless stream of same-samey smut scenes together.

I laughed, I cried, I blushed and I smiled ear to ear like a fool all while listening, and now I’m going to explore the other works of both the author and the narrator like a miner following a newly discovered vein of gold.

I was rolling my eyes at the heroine towards the beginning. She definitely has some ‘quirky girl’ attributes which I initially found very off putting.

However, the story continued on an interesting path, and the romance was unexpectedly tender. The spice was mild, and not to my taste, but certainly not poorly done.

Overall, I enjoyed this work and would read more by the author.

I love all things Ruby Dixon and decided to pick this one up after binging through most of her ice planet/corsairs/Risda universe and I’m glad I did!
The voice actor did really well, I was nervous about the single pov but it didn’t cause me any issues. (Last I checked, the audible sample was a spoiler for like 90% through the book so beware.)
The world is thought out and easy to follow.
And, it was genuinely funny. The banter between Faith and Aren was good, she was relatable he was a dick (he warms on you) and I’m eager to read more in this series!

What an adventure. With her words, Ruby Dixon builds worlds in my imagination. She writes fun and interesting characters, and Kendell Taylor brings them all to life. A grumpy God and a sassy human, what more could you want. Go on, give it a try.

Nawww it's a sweet romcom story. Ruby Dixon is great at creating a world to escape into, and characters you're happy to spend time with. Even a really long time! As previous reviews have said, you don't even notice that it's long cos you just get carried along with the story.
